The Elements

It looks as if we managed to survive another hard freeze without a fish kill. As temperatures started dipping in the 30's, I started wondering if I would enter Matagorda Bay to see specks and reds lining the banks. One Matagorda source reported water temperatures in East Bay plummeted to a 41 degree low during the week. Luckily, things started to heat up.
I had planned to fish this weekend although the continually shifting winds, freezing temps, and afternoon fog made it pretty tough to find a fishing partner. That pesky leak in my waders was something I was not looking forward to either.
